28 Feb Around The World in 90 Minutes!
Children in Gruffalo and Elmer Class looked very international on the last day of half-term when they came dressed for our ‘Far, Far Away’ topic. There were outfits from China, India, France, Spain, Poland, Thailand, an Italian pizza chef, an Innuit with a husky, several Mexicans and even a polar bear! There were pilots, racing car drivers and a camel.
The children enjoyed a chance to share their work with their parents. Elmer Class proudly showed off their work on ‘The Willow Pattern Story’ and Gruffalo Class performed a Chinese dragon dance. Gruffalo Parents learnt an Indian dance and took part in a word hunt. Later in the day Elmer Class also had a visit from Geoff Marshall, who talked to Elmer class children about what it is like to live in Africa. The children were fascinated to learn about different animals that live there and were especially amazed to see how a scorpion turns green when a UV light is shone onto it.
Some quotes from the children were: “Today was awesome!” and “I wish we could do this every day!”
