03 May Sports For Schools Sponsored Event
This week we welcomed Paralympian Katrina Hart to our schools as part of our Sports for Schools events. All of the children took part in the sponsored fitness circuits led by Katrina, they were absolutely amazing, all giving 100% and everything was done with super excitement and positivity. Katrina then gave an inspirational assembly on how her love of sport led her to pursue her athletics career. She explained all about her own disabilities and how she persevered to overcome them and achieve her very best and ultimately how it led her to travel the world competing for her country.
Here are some quotes from some of our students:
” You should never give up”
“It was fun but very tiring”
” It was hard but worth it!”
“If you have a disability it doesn’t mean you can’t do sport.”
Thank you to everyone who sponsored the children, as always the response has been fantastic, raising a total so far of £3,335! All wristbands will be sent out to us at school in approximately a week and we will then receive our total amount which we will receive to spend on sports equipment and resources, after their deductions.
