07 Jan Christmas Lunch Club
Our BFG Year 4 children all went down to the Over Sixties Lunch Club in Rode on Monday to join in the festivities. They made fabulous waiters, delivering the lunches to the elderly folk of the village, followed by cups of tea and coffee. No brussel sprouts were spilled in the process. They entertained the guests with a rendition of Once in Royal David’s City and We Three Kings, as well as reciting their poem Twas the Night Before Christmas and finishing with a Makaton version of We Wish You a Merry Christmas, which were all very well- received. The children were treated by a gift from the Over 60s which really made their day.
In the new year, lunch club will continue once a month and our year four children take it in turns to be the waiters in groups of 6. They always do us proud and we receive many compliments from the club members.
