17 Jul CREST OF A WAVE CARNIVAL
What a fantastic day the children, staff and parents of our two schools put on last Friday. The sun shone on Rode and the Carnival came to town!!
Amazing music, spectacular costumes, super tasty food and even Brazilian Beer! It was a real privilege to watch the children bringing the beat of the carnival to the streets of Rode! I thought that Jamma de Samba were just amazing and did a great job leading the music. Miss Manifold once again showed us what great performers and singers the children are. All of the teachers and TAs were just brilliant, festooned in glitter embodying the spirit of carnival, they really are an amazing bunch!
FRANS were superb keeping us supplied with tasty dogs and cold drinks galore. Many thanks to Chris Monkeridge and his team for keeping us all safe and organising the traffic marshals so well. A heartfelt thanks to Mrs Nicol and the office staff for chasing all the paperwork, organising tabards and countless other pieces of admin. It was really fabulous as well to see how many villagers turned out to cheer the children on as they made their way through Rode.
Finally, a big thank you to you Carolyn for having the boldness of vision and dynamic creativity to come up with such a spectacular event and somehow make it all work!
