24 Jan First School Council Meeting & Tree Planting

We were able to hold our first school council meeting on Friday and it was wonderful to be able to invite our Gruffalo and Elmer councillors over to Rode. We had a good first meeting where we talked about improvements we would like to make to playgrounds and playtimes. We also discussed the question ‘Do we feel safe in school?’. We thought about any times or areas of the school where we felt less safe and started to make a plan of how we could improve things.

Following our meeting we headed out onto the frosty field to plant our four fruit trees that are going to form our orchard. With Mr. Searle’s expert help we dug holes and planted a damson, apple, pear and cherry tree. Please flick through the photos below.
