30 Sep International Languages day
Our second International Languages day has been another success. At Rode, the children toured three different languages! We had British Sign Language with Miss Anderson. In the BFG classroom the children were sampling the Latin language with Mrs Opie. If that wasn’t enough, the children then went into Wild Things classroom where Mrs Vowell taught them the German names for the different colours! In the afternoon the children also enjoyed their weekly French lesson with Madame Fabre.
At Norton, Gruffalo Class enjoyed exploring French with Ms Fabre, finding France and the United Kingdom on a map and having a go at singing ‘Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’ in French. Elmer Class were excited to learn all about Ukraine and the Ukrainian language from Tanya. We learnt about the country of Ukraine and spotted it on a map. We found out about the Ukrainian alphabet and the sounds each letter makes and even experimented with writing our names in Ukrainian. Many thanks to Josephine Pearce for coming into Rode and sharing her love of languages with Paddington, Wild Things and BFG Classes and to Madame Fabre and Tania for sharing their expertise at Norton.
