At Rode and Norton School Federation the emotional health and wellbeing of our community is fundamental to our vision.
At Rode and Norton School Federation the emotional health and wellbeing of our community is fundamental to our vision. We pride ourselves in providing children with the crucial skills and positive attitudes enabling each and every child to embark on a unique adventure towards life in all its fullness (John 10:10.)
At Rode and Norton School Federation we understand that feelings of wellbeing are fundamental to the overall health of an individual and their ability to cope with difficulties that they are faced with in life and that wellbeing is fundamental to learning and achieving.
We take a whole school approach to emotional health and wellbeing
and are passionate about weaving it deeply into the foundations of everything we do. We have used the Somerset Wellbeing Framework Model to ensure a whole school approach which has used the latest research about promoting wellbeing through 3 basic principles (belonging, relationships and lifestyle). These principles provide the foundations for supporting children’s health and wellbeing. If practised and explored from an early age they can make a real difference to an individual’s emotional health and wellbeing.

We know that equipping children with the skills to look after and maintain good emotional health and wellbeing can not only support their cognitive development but enable them to be resilient and independent individuals. We strive to ensure children know how important wellbeing is, how to look after it and where to go for help if they need it. We want children to understand that ‘all emotions are ok’ and that how we feel really matters.
