11 Mar World Book Day 2025
Rode School had a fantastic World Book Day celebration, filled with creativity, imagination, and a love of stories.
The day began with an assembly led by the Year 4 librarians, who did a brilliant job of introducing World Book Day and explaining the exciting competition taking place.
The children then took part in three amazing workshops, each inspired by a different book.
In the Year 2 classroom, the children joined Miss Anderson (The Moon Queen) to explore The First Cat in Space Ate Pizza by Mac Barnett and Shawn Harris. In the Year 3 classroom, the children worked with Mrs Vowel (Dots) to dive into Press Here by Hervé Tullet. In the Year 4 classroom, the children joined Mrs Opie (Captain Hook) for a journey into Peter Pan.
Over at NSP, the children in Gruffalo and Elmer classes had an exciting World Book Day celebration! The morning began with an assembly from Mrs Slade, who was dressed as the Big Bad Wolf, much to the children’s delight.
It was a day filled with storytelling, creativity, and fun, and it was wonderful to see the children so engaged with books in such exciting ways. Happy World Book Day!
